Great sound, range and features : Panasonic KX-TG6632B DECT 6.0 Cordless Phone with Answering System, Black, 2 Handsets
This is not a bad ideas and the voice capability is good. The main complaint is the menu ideas is unnecessarily complex, especially for some things on remote hand sets. One should not easily need a hand-operated these days for basic functionality/programming.
One feature that seems nice is annoying. The handsets all have a speaker phone that will play incoming answering machine messages as they are being recorded. There is no unavoidable way of turning this off in the manual. Thus, say you work a strange shift and are trying to sleep. You turn the ringer off in your bedroom. The phone rings, the answering machine goes off and suddenly you have a loud voice in your bedroom...turning off the ringer did not solve a whole lot.
I assume/hope there is a way to turn this off, but I guess my electrical and computer engineering degree combined with Ui invent feel isn't what I idea it was <grin>, because I have not figured it out.
The phone has a power outage temporary battery, which is nice for a 911 call or such.

Great looking phone : VTech LS6215-2 DECT 6.0 Cordless Phone, Black/White, 2 Handsets
When I first saw these phones, I fell in love with them! They are sleek and fit in the hand so nicely. Also the highlight layout on the phone is easy to read and find. I like the intercom feature, that works very easily. Voice potential is exquisite and the phones work very well. I chose the version without answering machine, as I have free voicemail with my phone company. The only complaint I had is that there is no direct dial button for voicemail. So what I did was type in the way number, followed by the mailbox whole and the password. Separating the numbers with a pause, which is admittedly easy to do. I then stored the whole in the directory, so when I have a voicemail, I just hit the directory button, then the key with the v on it (v for voicemail) and it dials right in that way.
I studied all the features of all the cordless phones on the new Dect 6.0 technology and found this set to the best for layout and way of the features. They also are the slimmest sleekest! The look great and perform great. Even my wife who is technologically challenged loves them.

Very Happy : Panasonic KX-TG6644B DECT 6.0 Cordless Phone with Answering System, Black, 4 Handsets
I bought this phone primarily because of the features but also because of the dependability I've experienced with other Panasonic products. This phone replaces two other phones, one corded and one cordless, which were failing. The third phone I own is one of the old Panasonic 950 mghz models. I don't have to replace that one yet as it continues to work flawlessly after 12+ years. It's lived straight through a lot of use and abuse (three teenagers) and has only required a battery replacement. I hope the Kx-Tg6644B has the same record.
Everything works exceptionally well with the Kx-Tg6644. The clarity is great and the features, as described by the other reviewers, are just what I need. I have to agree that the caller Id mispronounces names, but this can be fixed by entering the names phonetically in the phonebook. Overall, I'm very happy with the phone.

Delayed ringing, Delayed Caller Id ='s Missing my Calls. : Panasonic KX-TG4053B DECT 6.0 PLUS Expandable Digital Cordless Phone with Answering System & Range Extender, Black, 3 Handsets
I'm only using my new Kx-Tg4053B for a few weeks and thus far it meets all my expectations.
I live in a two story concrete home with a reinforced concrete floor between the floors. With my previous phone reception in the upstairs bedroom was weak as the base unit was in the ground floor.
The new Kx-Tg4053B enables me to put the range extender at the top of the stairs and the reception in excellent.
We (my wife and myself) are low-tech phone users and probably will never use all the features that this phone provides so my recapitulate relates to the most important features:
- Clear sound
- Ease of factory and use
- Large and fascinating dispaly, large lit keys and most important large font.
- Clear speaker
All these features are of very high quality.
This is a very good phone.

Good phones with power outage back-up : Panasonic KX-TG6645B DECT 6.0 Cordless Phone with Answering System, Black, 5 Handsets
At first espy and use this phone is great. I purchased this along with 1 extra handset so I have 6 handsets. Set up was a breeze.
Pros:
The caller Id and phone book is the same on each phone. If you delete something on one or convert it on one, it changes on another
The phone has distinct groups you can put phonebook entries in--9 in all---what is great about that is that you can assign each a ringtone or search by group. You can assign each man in the house a ring tone so that when man calls for them and it is in the phonebook, the phone rings a inevitable way and you know who the call is for. Or you can assign work contacts to their own ringtone so you can ignore those when you want. This can reduce the need for citizen to pay for 2 isolate lines unless you need them because you need to talk on the phone at the same time.
You can assign each phone its own name
You can page one phone at a time or all of them (great for the intercom feature or trying to find a lost phone--my other ideas paged every phone so trying to find a lost phone was sometimes challenging).
Has a much farther reach than the 2.4 and 5.8 phones. It doesn't interfere with my wireless networking.
Cons
If there is a voice mail (i use the voice mail ideas from the phone company)--the phone displays "New voice mail) rather than the phones name. The name won't show up until you listen to the voice mail. I find this aggravating many times as I already know I have voice mail because the light is blinking and for whatever reason, i'm just not ready to check it.
if you have no voice mail, the icon for voice mail goes away, which means you have to go straight through the menu and press it about 4 or so times to get to voice mail. My last phone has a voice mail button all the time for one touch voice mail access. I save a lot of messages and want to go back and listen and i miss being about to have 1 touch access. If there is a new message, a voice mail icon is lit and you do have 1 touch access.
You need to remember what phone you assigned to what handset amount because the base unit where you press the locater services button does not store the names--you have to adopt by number. This isn't too bad--i don't remember what handset is what so i just page each one individually. However, if I was using the intercom, i would want to remember what amount was for what phone. I don't understand the purpose of being able to name the phone (other than to get it to its primary charging station) if you still have to remember which handset amount it is
Programming was Not intuitive. I had to use the study manual and have had to pull it out some times to remember how to do something. I actually think that is a microscopic ridiculous. We are at a day and age where simple things like this should be intuitive!! All of my other phones have been.
There is a limit of 6 handsets--not all associates limit it to 6 handsets.
While the talking caller Id is ok, there is a delay, so often i already know who it is before it tries to say it. Pronunciation isn't great, but its ok. I personally find it not very helpful. Although it has been nice at times. For me, it wouldn't be a imagine to buy this phone alone because of the major problems i list below.
The caller Id keeps track of every amount and each time they call. At first, I liked that compared to my old phone that would just display the most modern time called and the total amount of times called. But what I found out is that often my caller Id history doesn't go back very far in time because the citizen that call a lot end up using the space up. This is disappointing to me because I must be lazy and have used my caller Id memory as a way to know the numbers of citizen that have called. Before, my history could last for a month. With this phone it is regularly gone after a combine of days. They both stored the same amount of numbers in the caller id bank---but when the majority of my calls are from the same few people, they didn't take up much space with the other system. Does this make sense--if not, man annotation to me and I will try to convert it.
Potentially Major Problems
I have had more mystery hearing citizen on these phones than my other phones. I have had these phones a combine of months. Most of the time it is clear--but there are times when it is echoey or crackly. I did read other citizen having problems and found that when i set the home base unit in a room father away, it seemed to help because the Eco mode is turned off most of the time. When Eco is on, there are many more problems with clarity. Although the manual says eco mode will turn off by itself, there isn't a way to turn it off on your own. For This imagine Alone, if i had to do it over again, I Would Not buy this phone.
I also seem to be getting dropped calls. Again, never had that qoute with my other cordless phones. Not sure why I am having that qoute with this one. It doesn't happen too often--but i would say 5-10% of the time. Again, this is Unacceptable if it is the phones fault. Since i have the same phone company and have been in the same house and never had this issue before, i imagine it is the phone.
Bottom Line:
I would try other phone before trying this phone unless you Have to have the talking caller id. Many of the things that i put as positives can be found on any 6.0 phone. The sound quality of this is ok most of the time--but for most of my life I have had phones that have had good sound quality All of the time--so why compromise unless you have to. Unfortunately for me, I didn't qoute solve the clarity issues fast enough to return the item so for now I am keeping mine. My sister has the Vtech phone and it is easier to use and sounds better. So if i had to do it over again I would probably start there.
I want to expound that probably about 80% of the time the phone is clear and I don't have problems hearing. It is not a constant problem---it is just that there are other phones out there that are clear 100% of the time, so it seems smarter to try one of them first. I had many calls with panasonic keep and read on the web to troubleshoot, I kept reasoning i would find a way to fix it--(changing place of base station, manufacture sure there was no interference)--and I had a huge house crisis so I didn't get it returned before the 30 days were up. So I ended up keeping the phone--not the end of the world--but I would rather have spent the same money on phones that worked 100% of the time. i wrote this recite hoping to help other citizen make a decision.
